BROOKINGS, SD --Jelani Hamilton and Malachi Brown combined to score 36 total points, but the Panthers fell to the South Dakota State Jackrabbits 105-58 on the road Friday.
The Panthers had two players score in double figures, led by Hamilton, who had 21 points. Brown tacked on 15 points and Micah Tucker added four points, four assists and two steals.
How It Happened
Georgia State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 53-19 heading into halftime.
South Dakota State kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 60-24 advantage before Georgia State went on a 6-0 run, finished off by Brown's three, to shrink the deficit to 60-30 with 14:19 to go in the contest. South Dakota State responded and outscored the Panthers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 105-58. Georgia State got a boost from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for 17 of its 39 total points.
