ATLANTA — The Panthers are set to take on a pair of conference foes, as they travel to Conway, S.C. to do battle with Coastal Carolina on Wednesday before returning home to face UCF on Sunday afternoon.
FOLLOWING HISTORY
The Panthers enter the week riding high after earning their second conference victory in style, upsetting third-ranked West Virginia 2-1 in front of a home crowd on Saturday night. The win over the Mountaineers was the program's highest-ranked upset since defeating then-No. 2 Wake Forest in 2017.
With top their top two goal scorers seeing limited time, the Panthers found their offense in unfamiliar places.
Joel Gonzalez took advantage of a well placed
Virgil Dall'Agnol corner kick for his first goal of the season.
Dylan Williams secured the victory for State when he scored from a tough angle for his own first goal of the season.
Goalkeeper
Loan Marin has been enjoying his best stretch of the season as of late. Despite a loss to non-conference Jacksonville, Marin stopped a then-season-high eight shots from the Dolphins. The keeper then one-upped himself, stopping nine West Virginia shots to silence an offense that had scored multiple goals in nine of their previous 12 games. Marin has played every minute in net for the Panthers and will look to keep his hot streak rolling against a pair of offenses that have struggled thus far on the season.

The Knights enter the week 5-5-2 overall record against one of the country's toughest schedules. The team has played six games against nationally-ranked opponents, losing four but posting a scoring differential of just negative one. They are just over a week removed from their most notable win of the season, a 3-0 victory against No. 11 Georgia Southern. UCF has won all three matchups in the series, including a 3-2 defeat of Georgia State in their lone visit to Atlanta in 2023.
