NASHVILLE, TN --The Georgia State volleyball team got the job done in three sets (25-20, 25-18, 25-19) to take down the Bethune-Cookman Lady Wildcats Saturday at Kean Hall Gymnasium.
The out-of-conference win moved the Panthers' overall record to 6-2 on the season.
The Panthers were led by a double-double from Alessia Cappai, who registered 12 kills and 12 digs on the day. Peyton Gash also added nine kills to help the offense. On the defensive end, Livy Kowalkowski chipped in for with 14 digs to go with four blocks from Myllena Torquetti.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Panthers opened up an early one set to none lead, winning the first set 25-20. Georgia State never trailed by more than five points and grabbed the advantage for good at 8-7 in a set that showcased three lead changes before the Panthers took over the lead.
SET 2 | After their win in the first set, Georgia State put themselves on the cusp of a sweep with a 25-18 victory in set number two. Strong serving helped the Panthers earn the set-two victory. Georgia State recorded six aces in the set win. The Panthers opened up a 17-9 lead in the stanza and coasted to victory from there.
SET 3 | Georgia State closed the match in a 3-0 sweep after taking the third set. The Panthers led from the first point on in the set to secure a 25-19 victory. Georgia State opened up as much as a seven point lead at 19-12 before finishing off the set. The Georgia State offense also got a boost from four aces in the stanza. Georgia State's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking six Bethune-Cookman attacks in the stanza and capitalizing on 10 Bethune-Cookman attacking errors on the way to victory.
Georgia State will take on Mississippi Valley State next at 3 p.m. at the Tiger Invitational.Â
