ATLANTA -- Georgia State's
Brennan Hudson is the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week after leading the Panthers to a 3-1 week, including a Sun Belt Conference series win over Southern Miss.
The catcher-first baseman hit .571 with an eye-popping 1.914 OPS and a walk-off home run. Hudson was 8-for-14 for the week with three home runs, six RBI and nine runs scored. He also drew five walks for a .700 on-base percentage in the four games.
A native of Cumming, Ga. (South Forsyth High School), Hudson hit three homers in the series win over Southern Miss, including the walk-off 3-run homer that ended Game 2. He homered once in the Friday win and twice in the Saturday victory to clinch the series with back-to-back, run-rule victories.
For the season, Hudson is hitting .333 with seven homers and 18 RBI. He leds the team with a .535 on-base percentage.
Hudson and the Panthers host Kennesaw State Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the GSU Baseball Complex and then travel to Troy for a weekend series.
