ORLANDO, FL-- The Georgia State track team opened the second half of the season hot with several personal bests and a top regional mark at UCF on Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers ran a top regional mark in the 4x 100 meter relay, finishing second overall with a 44.71 time. The team, including
Maleah Heard,
Camarii Tellis,
Jada McBean and
Blake Blakemore, finished behind Tennessee.
Led by the relay team, the Panthers recorded top finishes in the 4x400-meter relays, 100-meter dash, 400-meter hurdles and triple jump.
After taking home a third place finish in the Sun Belt Conference Championships,
Maleah Heard opened the second half of the season with a third place finish in the 100-meter dash, finishing with an 11.59 time.
Kayli Williams finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles with a 13.52 time, followed by
Valissa Brown in fifth with a 13.59 time.
Williams was also part of the 4x400-meter relay team that finished fifth overall. With
Shadae Worrell,
Blake Blakemore,
Kayli Williams and
Keniya Walker on the track, the relay team finished with a 3:42.84 time.
Ronasche Fluker finished eighth overall in the triple jump with a 12.28-meter distance.
