OXFORD, OH -- Three Panthers scored double digits in the Sun Belt-MAC Challenge, but was not enough as Georgia State fell 80-63 against Miami (OH) on the road on Saturday.Â
The Panthers (14-9) had three players score in double figures, led by Mya Williams, who had 15 points. Crystal Henderson added 14 points and five assists and Kaleigh Addie helped out with 10 points and three steals.
Led by Deasia Merrill's four offensive rebounds, Georgia State did a great job crashing the offensive glass, pulling down 12 boards that resulted in nine second chance points.
Georgia State forced 15 Miami (OH) turnovers. The Panthers turned those takeaways into 13 points on the other end of the floor. Addie's three steals led the way for Georgia State.

How It Happened
Georgia State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 19-11 at the end of the first quarter.
Miami (OH) kept adding to that lead, building a 27-16 advantage before Georgia State went on a 5-0 run, highlighted by a three from Williams, to narrow its deficit to 27-21. Miami (OH) responded and expanded its lead, leaving the Panthers trailing 39-26 heading into halftime.
Miami (OH) continued to increase its lead after halftime, building a 50-30 advantage before Georgia State went on a 5-0 run, punctuated by a basket from Addie, to trim its deficit to 50-35 with 6:49 to go in the third. Miami (OH) countered and stretched its lead to 62-41 heading into the fourth.
Georgia State kept the Red Hawks from increasing their lead before going on a 5-0 run, finished off by Aniya Palmer's layup, to shrink the deficit to 68-52 with 6:45 to go in the contest. Miami (OH) responded and outscored the Panthers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 80-63. Georgia State fired away from deep in the quarter, knocking down three shots to account for nine of its 22 points.
