HUNTINGTON, WV --Keionna MacKey and Alessia Cappai each registered double-doubles to help lead the Georgia State volleyball team to a 3-1 victory (25-13, 25-27, 25-23, 25-17) over the Marshall Thundering Herd Saturday on the road at Cam Henderson Center.
The win moved the Panthers' record to 14-8 overall and 5-5 in Sun Belt play.
The Panthers were led by the double-doubles from MacKey, who had 10 kills and 12 digs, and Cappai, who had 11 kills and 12 digs. Peyton Gash added 16 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Kaleigh Fitzgerald chipped in for with 23 digs to go with four blocks from Myllena Torquetti.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Panthers took control on the first point and held the lead the rest of the way to win the first set 25-13. Georgia State led by 12 points at 19-7 before finishing off the set.
SET 2 | Georgia State then lost set two 27-25, tying the match at a set apiece. The Panthers dropped a back-and-forth set, losing in a stanza that featured three lead changes and was tied 13 times. Neither team led by more than four points along the way.
SET 3 | Georgia State bounced back after the set-two loss to take set three and a 2-1 lead in the match. The Panthers won the set 25-23 helped by a solid performance on the attacking side. Georgia State registered a .388 attack percentage with 19 kills in the set win. After the lead changed hands two times, the Panthers took control for good at 22-21 and rode that advantage to victory.
SET 4 | Georgia State kept the momentum going, finishing off the match with a 25-17 fourth-set victory. The Panthers scored first and never trailed in the set to secure the victory. Georgia State finished up the stanza on a strong note, claiming its biggest lead, eight points, to finish off the set. Georgia State also supplemented their offense with three aces in the set.
The Panthers are back at home Friday, Nov. 1 at 6:00 p.m. to take on Appalachian State.Â
