ATLANTA, GA - After dropping two matches against Coastal Carolina, Georgia State hosts Old Dominion Friday, Oct. 18 at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 19 at 2:00 p.m. at the GSU Sports Arena.Â
Georgia State has won ten out of its last sixteen matches, doubling its wins from the previous season. The Panthers rank second in conference in team assists, team kills and team service aces. Under the leadership of head coach Flavia Siqueria, the Panthers look to continue their comeback season as they continue conference play.
Georgia State and Old Dominion are meeting for the fifth time in program history. Old Dominion is undefeated against Georgia State after the Panthers fell 0-3 to the Monarchs on Nov. 2023.
Keionna Mackey leads the Panthers in kills, recording 220 on the season. Mackey has been a key addition to the Panthers' lineup, averaging 3.24 kills per set. She currently ranks second in the Sun Belt and top 100 in the nation for total points. Mackey is ranked first in the conference for total aces, and third in total kills.
Graduate transfer Kaleigh Fitzgerald has served as the Panthers' libero throughout the season, registering 250 digs so far. Fitzgerald ranks fifth in the conference with 4.24 digs per set.
After hosting Old Dominion, Georgia State travels to Huntington take on Marshall on Friday, Oct. 25 at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, Oct 26 at 2: 00 p.m.
