Henderson, Tolivert Earn Preseason Honors

ATLANTA-- Senior Mikyla Tolivert and sophomore Crystal Henderson were named to the 2024 Preseason All-Sun Belt first team, the conference announced on Monday afternoon. 

Tolivert's honors come after her standout performance during the 2023-24 season earned her a spot on the All-Sun Belt Conference third team. The Melbourne, Fla., native played a pivotal role for the Panthers, starting all 28 games and leading the team with an average of 14.1 points per game, along with 5.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 0.5 blocks per game. Defensively, she ranked fifth in the conference for steals per game and ninth (second on the team) in assists.

Tolvert hit the record book in numerous occasions during the 2023-24 season, ranking third overall in program history for free-throw percentage (80.7). She entered the single-game records five times last season, twice for single-game points, twice for single game free-throws made and once for single-game assists. 

Henderson, who was named the 2024 Sun Belt Freshman of the Year, also made a significant impact in her inaugural season. As a freshman, Henderson started all 30 games as a point guard and averaged 11.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. Her playmaking ability shone as she led the team with 136 assists, ranking fourth in the Sun Belt.

Henderson was also a defensive asset, finishing second on the team with 55 steals, placing her eighth in the conference.
