ATLANTA - Junior
Edward Tymes was victorious in both of his matches against Chattanooga (0-3) to lead Georgia State (3-0) to its third win of the season. Tymes secured the match point for the Panthers with a 6-2, 7-6(4) victory at the No. 3 spot.
The Panthers started strong as they took the doubles point, posting victories on the second and third doubles courts.

Maxwell Weir clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win at the No. 2 flight. Tymes and
Diogo Morais were also successful in their doubles match, charting a strong 6-2 win at the No. 3 flight.
Baran Soyler, Sun Belt Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week, posted his third win of the season at the No. 1 flight, defeating his opponent 6-2, 6-3. Kamaruzzaman followed his teammates' success as he notched his third win of the season as well, overcoming his opponent 7-5, 6-2. Both newcomers Soyler and Kamaruzzaman have won three straight singles matches to start the season.
The Panthers dropped matches at the No. 2, No. 4, and No. 5 flights, forcing Tymes to decide the match. Tymes won his third consecutive singles match of the season to give the Panthers the victory against opponent Chattanooga.
Georgia State will host its fourth home match of the season on Sunday, Jan. 28 at 1 p.m. as they take on Stetson.
