Baran Soyler is the Sun Belt Conference Men's Tennis Player of the week after winning four matches at the No. 1 flight in one day to lead Georgia State to a pair of wins on the opening day of the 2024 season.

Soyler, a sophomore transfer from Andana, Turkey, is playing No 1 singles and No. 1 doubles for the Panthers.

In Georgia State's 4-3 win over Elon, Soyler helped secure the doubles point with a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles and then earned a 6-3, 6-2 win at No 1 singles.

Later than day, he won again at No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles in a 5-2 win over South Carolina State as Georgia State started 2-0.

The Panthers host a pair of home matches this weekend, both at the indoor courts at Lifetime Fitness in Peachtree Corners. Georgia State faces Chattanooga Friday at noon and Stetson Sunday at 1 p.m. Admission is free.
