ATLANTA – Georgia State men's tennis wrapped up a strong weekend at the Georgia Tech Invitational, highlighted by dominant doubles play and several key singles victories across three days of competition. The Panthers went an impressive 5–1 in doubles on the weekend, earning wins over opponents from Ole Miss, Liberty, Mississippi State, and Georgia Tech.
Day 1 – Fast Start in Doubles, Strong Singles Wins
The Panthers opened the tournament in top form. The duo of
Arthur Attrill and
Gabriele Datei secured an 8–3 win over Whitwell/Martin of Ole Miss, while
Aryan Jit Singh and
Cem Atlamis followed with a thrilling 8–7(4) victory against Georgia Tech's Biagotti/Demuth.
In singles,
Gabriele Datei earned a straight-set victory over Mississippi State's Marshall Landry (6–4, 6–1), and
Arthur Attrill battled through a three-set win against Georgia Tech's Demuth (6–4, 3–6, 6–2).
Day 2 – Doubles Continue to Roll, Minami and Atlamis Lead in Singles
Attrill and Datei stayed unbeaten, edging Liberty's Vorwerk/Rootham 8–7(4) to move to 2–0 on the weekend. In singles,
Sota Minami outlasted Liberty's Ernst Gouws in a hard-fought three-set match (7–6(2), 4–6, 6–3), and
Cem Atlamispicked up a quality win over Vanderbilt's Tighe Brunetti (6–4, 7–5).
Day 3 – Panthers Close Strong in Doubles
Georgia State capped the weekend with two more doubles victories. Atlamis and Singh defeated Mississippi State's Landry/Novansky 8–6, and Attrill and Datei improved to 3–0 together with another 8–6 win over Guimaraes/Vaksmann (Mississippi State).
Despite some tough singles results on the final day, the Panthers' doubles dominance and steady singles performances highlighted a successful outing against strong regional competition.
