HUNTINGTON, W. VA. -- Dwon Odom scored 21 points in Georgia State's 77-68 road loss at Marshall Wednesday.Â
The Panthers (9-10, 4-4) got 15 points from Toneari Lane and 11 from Brenden Tucker. Odom also had five assists, three rebounds and a steal.
Jay'Den Turner contributed eight points and 11 rebounds for his seventh double-figure rebounding effort in the last eight games.
Odom nailed a half court shot at the first half buzzer to send the Panthers into the locker room with a 30-29 lead.
The game was tied at 54-all with 10 minutes to play when Tucker made a floater in the lane with a chance for an and-one. But the basket was waved off when he was called for a charge, and head coach Jonas Hayes was assessed a technical foul for protesting. That sent Marshall (10-11, 5-3) on a 19-7 run as the Thundering Herd built a 73-60 lead with four minutes left.
Obinna Anochili-Killen led Marshall with 22 points.
Georgia State concludes its four-game road swing Saturday in a 2 p.m. game at Coastal Carolina. The Panthers' next home game is Feb. 1 vs. App State. For tickets, visit GeorgiaStateSports.com/tix.Â
