Playing in the Geri Polvin0 Invitational at Eastern Kentucky, the Georgia State volleyball team dropped a pair of matches Friday to Chattanooga, 3-1, and host EKU, 3-0.
The tournament continues Saturday, when the Panthers face Murray State at 11 a.m.
EASTERN KENTUCKY 3, GEORGIA STATE 0
The Georgia State volleyball team racked up 11 blocks in a three-set (21-25, 18-25, 13-25) loss to the Eastern Kentucky Colonels Friday on the road at Baptist Health Arena.
Akira Burt finished with five kills on the day to lead the Panthers attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .4. got 16 digs from Livy Kowalkowski along with six blocks from Burt and five rejections from Kayla Broom to lead them defensively.

SET 3 | Eastern Kentucky finished off the sweep with a third-set win. The Panthers fell behind on the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way before falling in the set 25-13.
CHATTANOOGA 3, GEORGIA STATE 1
The Georgia State volleyball team lost to the Chattanooga Lady Mocs 3-1 (17-25, 21-25, 26-24, 19-25) Friday at Baptist Health Arena.
Jahniya Jackson finished with 12 kills on the day to lead the Panthers attack. Defensively, had four players reach double figures in digs, highlighted by Livy Kowalkowski's 28, 13 from Erin Wyatt, and 11 more from Maren Palmer. From the front row, Kayla Broom contributed six blocks.
