KENNESAW, Ga. — Georgia State women's soccer traveled up the road for an in-state matchup with Kennesaw State and battled the Owls to a 0-0 draw on Thursday night at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. Goalkeeper Ariana Anderson made her first collegiate start and recorded a clean sheet through 90 minutes in the net for the Panthers.
A freshman native of Frisco, Texas, Anderson collected three saves on the night while helping to hold the Owls scoreless for all 90 minutes of play. Anderson has now totaled nine saves for the season.
The Panthers charted a total of 12 shots with three on frame as a team. Elena Diaz led the team in shooting with a total of five shots and two shots on goal for the match.
Aaliyah Faddoul finished second on the team in shooting with a total of three shots, followed by Callee Maughon with two and Seika Ikezoe with one shot on goal.
The tie moves GSU to 3-1-3 overall for the 2023 season.
The Panthers return to the pitch on Sunday, Sept. 10 and will travel for a road matchup against Alabama State at 2 p.m. ET. Information on live stats and streaming will be posted on the team's social media accounts later in the week.
