Mencia Abaigar, the Georgia State women's cross country team placed second at the Alexander/ASICS Invitational in Fairburn, Ga.
Mencia, the freshman from Castro Uridiales, Cantabria who finished in 18:54.28, was one of five Georgia State runners who achieved their personal best in the 5K race at at Bouckaert Farms just outside Atlanta.
Also in the Top 10 for Georgia State were sophomore
Ana Cubillo (8th/18:59.20-PR) and freshman
Julia Dura (9th/18:59.20-PR).

The Panthers finished ahead of rival Georgia Southern as well 13 other teams in the 15-team field. Carson-Newman won the event.
