CLINTON, SC -- Freshman Aaliyah recorded a career-high 17 kills for Georgia State, but the Panthers fell at Presbyterian in five sets (19-25, 25-22, 25-20, 23-25, 13-15) Saturday at Templeton Center.
Erin Wyatt had a double-double for the Panthers (3-8) with 12 kills and 14 digs on the day. On the defensive end, Livy Kowalkowski chipped in for with 17 digs to go with six blocks from Akira Burt.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Panthers found themselves in an early deficit, dropping a tough first set 25-19. Georgia State trailed by as many as eight points as Presbyterian grabbed the advantage for good at 10-9 in a set that was tied up three times before the Blue Hose took control.
SET 2 | Georgia State responded to pick up a 25-22 victory in the second set, evening the match at one set apiece. The Panthers scored first and never trailed in the set to earn the victory. Georgia State opened up as much as a six point lead at 13-7 before closing out the set, totaling 19 kills along the way. The Panthers hit .375 over the course of a set where they racked up 19 kills.
SET 3 | Georgia State built on that second-set success with a victory in set number three to open up a lead at two sets to one. The Panthers the set the third set 25-20. Georgia State took the lead for good at 21-20 in a set that showcased two lead changes before the Panthers took over in the second half of the stanza. The Georgia State offense also got a boost from three aces in the stanza. Georgia State's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking four Presbyterian attacks in the stanza.
SET 4 | Georgia State couldn't keep the win streak going, as the Blue Hose forced a fifth set with a 25-23 fourth-set win. The Panthers rallied from a seven-point deficit at 24-17, but it wasn't enough as Presbyterian hung on to win the set.
SET 5 | Georgia State opened a lead of two sets to one before losing the final two sets, including a 15-13 loss in the fifth set. The Panthers lost the first point and never clawed back into the lead.
