HUNTSVILLE, ALA -- All five Georgia State runners achieved personal-best times as the Panthers competed against a strong field at the Southern Showcase, hosted by Jacksonville State in Huntsville, Ala.

The team demonstrated significant improvement at their second meet of the year with all of their finishers placing in the top 53 percent among more than 300 runners in a field that included Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss and Kentucky.

Georgia State placed 16th of the 36 teams but second among Sun Belt Conference teams as the Panthers placed ahead of Troy and Louisiana.

For the second straight meet, a freshman was the top finisher, and this time it was Dura, who posted an 18:37.80 after a 19:51 in the season opener. Classmate
Mencia Abaigar was the second Panther across the line, running 19:23.10 after a 19:36 two weeks prior.

Erica Hambacker finished with a 19:23.20 after a 19:51 at the season opener, while sophomore
Ana Cubillo dropped her time from the season opener by a big margin, finishing in 19:29.70 after a 21:02 in the first meet.

Freshman
Laure Kidukula posted her first sub-20 time in her second Panther meet, finishing in a time of 19:47.00 after a 20:19 two weeks earlier.
