Johnston's Goal Lifts Panthers to 1-0 Victory Over Presbyterian

ATLANTA— Georgia State women's soccer secured a 1-0 home victory over Presbyterian on Sunday at the GSU Soccer Complex. Senior forward Maddie Johnston found the back of the net in the 38' minute to give GSU the lead, and the Panthers shut out the Blue Hose for the remainder of the match to notch a third win for the 2023 season.

The goal by Johnston marks the second on the year for the Acworth, Ga. native. Junior forward Bree Barley was credited with the assist.

The Panthers tallied 13 shots with seven shots on frame as a team, while limiting the Blue Hose to just four shots with two shots on frame. Aaliyah Faddoul and Alondra Nieves led the team in shooting with a total of three shots each.
