ATLANTA— Georgia State women's soccer hosted Mercer and played to a 1-1 draw on Thursday, Aug. 24 at the GSU Soccer Complex. Alondra Nieves recorded a second goal on the season off an assist from Brook Nelson in the 18th minute to give GSU an early 1-0 advantage. 

Following Nieves opening the night scoring, the Bears responded to make it a 1-1 game with a goal in the 44th minute. GSU totaled 14 shots with five shots on goal.

With the tie, GSU moves to 2-0-1 overall. 

The Panthers return to the pitch on Sunday, Aug. 27 and will host Presbyterian at the GSU Soccer Complex. Match time is slated for 6 p.m. ET with ESPN+ set to broadcast.
