Panthers Post Record-Setting 12-0 Victory Over South Carolina State

ATLANTA— Georgia State women's soccer opened its 2023 campaign with a program-record 12-0 victory at home over South Carolina State on Thursday night. Senior forward Brooke Hart and freshman midfielder Aaliyah Faddoul both recorded hat tricks for the Panthers, as each player netted three goals on the night and helped GSU to its largest margin of victory at home in school history.

The 12-0 win also marks a tie for most goals and largest margin of victory for the program's history. Sophomore midfielder Reese Gordon connected on her first career goal in the 26' minute, while senior forward Maddie Johnston, fifth-year defender Eva Diez Lois, freshman midfielder Paula Boza, junior midfielder Olivia Shaw and freshman midfielder Gabriela Gonzalez all accounted for one goal each.

Fifth-year forward Jimena Cabrero charted a team high of two assists on the night. Hart led the team in shots with a total of five, followed by freshman forward Payton Conti who notched four shots to go with one assist.

GSU begins the season 1-0-0 following the win. The 12-0 defeat of the Bulldogs on Thursday serves as the first time the Panthers have scored in double digits since the team's 10-0 victory over Jacksonville State in 1997.

The Panthers return to the pitch on Sunday, Aug. 20 and will host Murray State at the GSU Soccer Complex at 1 p.m. ET. Live stats will be provided and can be found at the team's schedule page on the web.
