Brown Earns All-Sun Belt Honors

ATLANTA – Senior outfielder, Emily Brown, has been named to the 2023 All- SBC Second team as announced by the Sun Belt Conference on Tuesday afternoon. Brown is the first Panther to earn a postseason All – SBC honor since 2015.
 
The senior from Suwanee, Ga has started all 53 game for the Panthers and is batting .397 overall, which is 5th in the Sun Belt and .453 in conference play. She is third in the SBC for triples with five, at bats with 172 and stolen bases with her 26. She also comes in second in the Sun Belt with 69 hits this season so far. She had a 10-game hit streak from 3/15-3/29, the longest of the team.
 
Brown earns the award after being at the top of the Panthers for majority of the season leading in batting average, runs, hits, triples, and stolen bases. Her 26 stolen bases this season is an individual season high and second in GSU season history.
 
In the Panthers last regular season series finale Brown went two for three and scored one run in all three games notching her best batting average of the season of .391 in the series finale. She also stole two bases and earned an rbi.
 
The Panthers open the Sun Belt Championship on Wednesday, May 10 against the eight seeded ULM Warhawks at 4 p.m. CT/5 p.m. ET. All games will be streamed on ESPN+.
