ATLANTA, Ga. -- Despite picking up eight hits in the ballgame and out-hitting Coastal Carolina, Georgia State was unable to push across more runs, as the Panthers were defeated by the Chanticleers 7-2 Friday.

In the batter's box, the Panthers were led by McKenzie Walker, who went 2-for-2 on the day with a home run, two walks and an RBI. Chloe Hatcher furnished a noteworthy performance at the dish as well, going 1-for-3 with a home run and an RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Panthers were trailing 2-0 in the fourth inning when they first put runs on the board. Hatcher put Georgia State on the board with a leadoff home run off Abby Henderson.

The Panthers kept the deficit at 2-1 before tying the score in the fifth. Georgia State picked up a run on Walker's leadoff home run off of McKennah Metzger, which brought the score level at 2-2. Coastal Carolina then scored five times over the remaining two innings to break the tie and grab the 7-2 win.
