Ryerson Hits 16th Homer in Loss to Wofford

ATLANTA -- Max Ryerson hit his team-leading 16th home run, but Georgia State fell to Wofford 7-2 in the final midweek game of the season Tuesday at the GSU Baseball Complex.

Ryerson led off the game with his 38th homer in a Georgia State uniform over the last two seasons to tie former Panther great Bradley Logan for fourth place on the GSU career list.

Wofford (34-14) took its first lead with two runs in the third inning, but the Panthers (24-26) tied the game in fourth, when Will Mize led off with a double and scored on an RBI-single by Dylan Strickland.

The Terriers moved ahead for good with two runs in the fifth and then added two more in the sixth.

Georgia State's Cameron Jones stole his 33rd base of the season, bringing him within one of the GSU season record of 34, set by Jimmy Fowlkes in 1980.

Georgia State plays its final home series this weekend as the Panthers host Georgia Southern, beginning Friday at 6 p.m.
