Georgia State (13-21, 2-7) dropped both games of the Sunday doubleheader against Sun Belt Conference leader Marshall (30-3, 7-0) as the herd extended their win streak to 21.

The Panthers only scored one run in game 1 for the 5-1 loss and gave Marshall's pitcher Sydney Nester (18-2) a shutout win with a 5-0 loss in the second game.

In game 1, down 2-0, Richardson led off the Panthers in the fourth with a single,
Jaycee Goodwin was hit by a pitch and
Ashton Schroyer was walked to load the bases for the Panthers. With bases loaded and no outs, a Sac fly from
Carolyn Deady gave
Bailee Richardson the opportunity to take home to get the Panthers on the board cutting the lead in half.

Marshall hit two doubles to score three more runs in the second half of the game to win 5-1.

Hallie Adams (3-8) pitched all six innings for the Panthers letting up nine hits and five runs earning the loss.

In game two the Herd came out strong hitting a two rbi home run. They would go on to hit two more home runs throughout the game bringing in a total of four runs. The last one coming in the sixth for the final score of 6-0.

Despite five hits, the Panthers could not get across the plate, leaving a total of six players on base.

Emily Hodnett (4-8) pitched all six innings, letting up eight hits while only striking out two for the loss.

The Panthers will be back in action at home on Wednesday as they take on Chattanooga in a doubleheader at 3 p.m..
