Datei, Grinvalds Earn All-Conference Honors For 2023

ATLANTA– Georgia State men's tennis freshman Gabriele Datei and fifth-year senior Roberts Grinvalds have been named All-Sun Belt for spring 2023, as announced by the conference on Tuesday. Datei was named All-Sun Belt Singles Second-Team, while Grinvalds and Datei each received All-Sun Belt Doubles Second-Team honors.

In Datei's first year with the program, the freshman has registered a total of nine victories for GSU at the top three singles court positions. The Italy native has notched four wins facing conference opponents at the first and second singles courts.

Datei and Grinvalds have teamed for five wins at the top doubles court for the Panthers in 2023, with four of the duo's wins coming against Sun Belt opponents. The 2023 second-team honor for doubles marks the third consecutive season Grinvalds has been named to the All-Sun Belt Team.

The Panthers will enter the 2023 SBC Championship slotted as the No. 6 overall seed in the tournament and will face No. 3-seeded Louisiana for first-round competition on Thursday, April 20. Match time is slated for 10 a.m. ET at Peachtree City Tennis Center.

Tournament matches will be broadcast on ESPN+ with live stats provided by the conference. Further information regarding the SBC title will be released later in the week.
