ATLANTA— Georgia State men's tennis posted a split in competition over the weekend after the team charted a 7-0 sweep at home against Kennesaw State on Sunday. After falling short on the road facing UAB on Friday, strong performances from Gabriele Datei and Diogo Morais helped the Panthers secure the shutout victory over KSU and earn the team's third win for the spring.

Datei and Morais each finished unbeaten in singles competition for the weekend with back-to-back wins facing UAB and KSU on Friday and Sunday. Datei paired alongside Edward Tymes at the second doubles court for a 6-3 victory facing KSU, while Morais and partner Ricardo Batista notched a pair of 6-4 wins at the third doubles court against both opponents.

Datei charted a strong 6-3, 6-2 win at the second court position against UAB on Friday, followed by a 6-4, 6-4 win on Sunday facing KSU. Morais played the third court position and charted a 7-5, 6-0 win against UAB, and a 7-5, 6-1 win over KSU.

Morais has now accounted for a team-high six singles victories for GSU this spring. Datei currently stands at five wins in singles competition.
