THE TIPOFF: Georgia State plays its final home game of the season Wednesday, hosting Appalachian State at 7 p.m. at the GSU Convocation Center.

> Georgia State will honor Kalik Brooks and Joe Jones III in Senior Day ceremonies before the game. The game is also Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Night.

> The Panthers are 10-8 at home this season.

> After missing the first 18 games due to a thumb injury, sophomore guards Collin Moore has made a significant impact, averaging 13.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.3 steals in 10 games. He had a then-career high 17 points with five rebounds at Georgia Southern in his second game, and then in the home win over the Eagles, he grabbed a career high 11 rebounds and four steals.

> Moore scored a career-high 28 points against Marshall as he went 12-for-18 from the field, including three 3-pointers, for the highest scoring output for any Panther this season. He also snagged a career-high five steals. Other top games include 15 points, five rebounds and four assists vs. Southern Miss, and 18 points and seven rebounds at Arkansas State.

> Over the last eight games, Jamaine Mann is averaging 13.6 points and 6.3 rebounds, compared with his season averages of 10.6 points and 5.0 rebounds. Last week at Coastal Carolina, he just missed a double-double with 18 points, one off his career high, and nine rebounds. He began this stretch with five straight double-figure scoring games, including 18 points, along with seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and a blocked shot in the win over Georgia Southern, as well as a double-double (16 points, 10 rebounds) vs. Southern Miss.

> On their last homestand, the Panthers suffered back-to-back close losses to Sun Belt leader Southern Miss and Old Dominion, but in both games the Panthers had the chance to tie the game or take the lead in the final 90 seconds.

> Ja'Heim Hudson averages 10.5 points on the season and leads GSU in rebounding (7.1/10th in Sun Belt), blocked shots (22) and steals (27).

> Junior guard Brenden Tucker is averaging a team-high 13.6 ppg in Sun Belt play (12.4 overall), including two 20-point games. > Georgia State has made at least one 3-point field goal in 858 straight games, dating back to the 1994-95 season. The last team to hold the Panthers without a trey was Stetson on Feb. 18, 1995. The streak is among the top 25 in the nation.

SERIES NOTES: Georgia State has won two of the last three against App State, including a 71-66 victory in the 2022 Sun Belt semifinals.

> App State won the earlier meeting this season, 71-59 in Boone on Jan. 26. Jamaine Mann led the Panthers with 16 points and eight rebounds.

> Last season, each team won on the other's home court as App State won in Atlanta, 61-60 on a last-second shot, but the Panthers won at Boone, 58-49.

> The all-time series is even at 10-10, but Georgia State holds a 10-8 advantage in the Sun Belt era. Before App State joined the conference in 2014-15, the only previous meetings were in 1988-89 and 1989-90, both won by App State.
