Jean is Center Parc Student-Athlete of the Week

Women's basketball standout Nyla Jean is the Center Parc Credit Union Student-Athlete of the Week after leading the Panthers to a victory over Marshall.

Jean averaged 15.5 points in two games last week, but most importantly, she provided the winning margin in Saturday's victory. With Georgia State trailing by one, she stepped to the free throw line with just nine seconds left and calmly sank both foul shots to give the Panthers the 55-54 victory.

The sophomore guard from Tampa, Fla., finished the game with 13 points, three rebounds and three assists. Earlier in the week, she scored 18 points against Southern Miss.

Jean shot 56 percent from the field for the week, including 6-for-13 from 3-point range. She also made 90 percent from the free throw line.

After Wednesday's game at Coastal Carolina, Jean and the Panthers host their regular-season finale against Georgia Southern Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the GSU Convocation Center. For tickets, visit GeorgiaStateSports.com or call 404-414-4020 during business hours.
