> The Panthers' win over Clemson is the first Power Five win since defeating Clemson on Nov. 11, 2008. 

> GSU ranks second in the Sun Belt in blocks (3.8). GSU is also third in the conference bench points (24.2 ppg) and fourth for three-pointers per game (6.9).

> Preseason All-Sun Belt guard Mikyla Tolivert leads GSU in scoring (14.4 ppg), which ranks 11th in the Sun Belt. Tolivert also leads the Panthers in free throw percentage (.872), which ranks second in the conference. The Junior Guard has totaled 115 points on the season.  

> Veteran leader Deasia Merrill leads the Panthers in rebounding (6.3 rpg) and ranks fourth in the Sun Belt for blocks per game (1.12). The 6-1 senior from Villa Rica, Ga., was second on the team in the 2022-23 season with 13.6 points per game, along with a team-leading 7.2 rebounds. She ranked 11th in the Sun Belt in scoring and 10th in rebounding.

> Junior post player Alyssa Phillip, who has seen the most time on the court, leads the Panthers squad in total rebounds with 58 (6.4 rpg). Phillip averages 3.3 ppg on the season. Phillip averaged 3.1 ppg on the 2022-23 season.

> Veteran guard Kamryn Dziak averages 4.7 ppg and 1.1 rpg on the season. The graduate ranks top ten in the program after tallying 109 career 3-pointers. The graduate Panther- missed the 2022-23 season due to injury after averaging 4.8 points in 2021-22.

> The Panthers' cast of newcomers includes experienced transfers such as Patience Williams (USF), Mya Williams (Hutchinson C.C.), Erin Turral (Stony Brook), Aniya Palmer (Mississippi State) and Kaleigh Addie (Xavier) as well as promising freshmen like Crystal Henderson (Kell High School), Eghosa Obasuyi (Carrollton) and Aaliyah Hunt (Peachtree Ridge).

SERIES VS. LAGRANGE: Georgia State and LaGrange College, which plays in the USA South Athletic Conference, are meeting for the second time in program history. The Panthers are 1-0 on the series after defeating the LaGrange Panthers 81-35 at home on Dec. 20, 2022.

NEWCOMERS LEADING THE PACK: 

> The Panthers' freshman guard Crystal Henderson has made an impact on both sides of the ball, leading the team in assists (33), which ranks in the top ten in the Sun Belt. Henderson also leads the Panthers in steals (17) and is second on the team in points (98) and free-throws (25). The Marietta, Ga. native leads the Sun Belt freshmen in scoring (10.9) and assists. Henderson put up a career-high 20 points in the Panthers' latest victory over Clemson (Dec. 16). The freshman averages 10.9 ppg and 2.8 rpg on the season.

>Xavier transfer Kaleigh Addie leads the Panthers in three-point percentage (.474) and is third on the team in field goal percentage (.510). 

> Transfer guard Mya Williams made a name for herself early in the season, leading the Panthers in three-pointers with 16. She is third on the team in scoring, averaging 10.4 ppg. The Hutchinson C.C. transfer put up a career-high 21 points and three steals and went four-for-four at the free-throw line in the Panther's last contest against Clemson (Dec. 16). 
 

After taking on LaGrange at home, GSU kicks off conference play on the road at Troy on Dec. 30. Following, The Panthers return home for a four-game Sun Belt homestead against  ULM (Jan. 4), Texas State (Jan. 6), Marshall (Jan. 11) and App State (Jan. 13).
