FOLEY, AL --Aaliyah Mitchell and Erin Wyatt each secured double-doubles in match one of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, but the Panthers ultimately team fell to the Arkansas State Red Wolves 3-1 (16-25, 25-21, 24-26, 20-25) Wednesday at Foley Sports Tourism Complex.
The Panthers were led by the double-doubles from Mitchell, who had 10 kills and 10 digs, and Wyatt, who had 16 kills and 13 digs. Akira Burt added six kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Livy Kowalkowski chipped in for with 28 digs to go with eight blocks from Burt.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Panthers fell behind early, dropping a tough first set 25-16. Georgia State trailed by as many as nine points as Arkansas State never gave up the lead in a set that was tied up zero times before the Red Wolves took control.
SET 2 | Georgia State responded to pick up a 25-21 victory in set two, evening the match at one set apiece. The Panthers never trailed by more than five points and grabbed the advantage for good at 12-11 in a set that showcased two lead changes before the Panthers took over the lead. Georgia State's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking five Arkansas State attacks in the stanza.
SET 3 | Arkansas State went up 2-1 after defeating the Panthers in set three. The Panthers dropped a tight set, losing 26-24 in a stanza that was tied seven times and had two lead changes.
SET 4 | Georgia State then dropped the fourth set 25-20 to finish off the match. The Panthers dropped the first point and never clawed back into the lead before losing the set.
The loss dropped Georgia State's record to 5-23 overall and 2-15 in Sun Belt action.
