ATLANTA- Panthers fall in a gut-wrenching loss to the No. 5 Kentucky Wildcats, 5-1. Panther fans packed out the cage for the Sun Belt Conference home opener. 

40 seconds into the match Mario Arrocha cranked a banger into the upper left corner of the net to give the early lead. 

In the 6th minute Kentucky tied it up with a goal by Casper Grening.

In the 13th minute Gunther Rankenburg would record a save to keep the match at 1-1.

The Panthers and Wildcats would continue to battle it out on the field in the first half but the score remained tied at the half. 

At the start of the second half McLean attempted another early goal but it would be saved by Kentucky. 

Rankeburg recorded two saves in the second half, one being from a PK. In the 58th minute Kentucky was awarded a penalty kick but Rankenburg was there for the unbelievable save. 

Kentucky went on to score four goals in the 68th, 77th, 81st and the 89th minute. 

Panthers will travel to Nashville, Tn to take on #21 Lipscomb on Tuesday, September 27 at 7 p.m.. The match will be aired on ESPN+.
