Ryerson Hits Two Bombs to Lead 13-7 Win

MONTGOMERY -- Max Ryerson homered twice and drove in five runs and Dylan Strickland added three hits and three RBI to lead Georgia State to a SCORE victory at Alabama State Tuesday at Wheeler-Watkins Baseball Complex.

Ryerson hit his Sun Belt Conference leading 15th and 16th homers of the season. The junior outfielder is now tied for the fourth-highest season total in Georgia State history. Only Chad Smith (21, 2000), Jason Glover (20, 1996) and Nic Wilson (18, 2014) have hit more in a season.

Strickland had a 2-run double in the third inning and then an RBI-single in the sixth. He finished 3-for-5 on the night

Luke Boynton also went 3-for-5 with one RBI.

Ryerson gave Georgia State an early lead with a two-run homer in the first inning.

With the Panthers leading 9-5 in the seventh inning, Boynton delivered an RBI single and then Ryerson's second homer of the night, an opposite field, 3-run blast, put the Panthers up 13-5.

GSU reliever Seth Clark (3-0) was the winning pitcher. He entered a tie game in the bottom of the fifth inning with a runner at third base and ended the inning with a strikeout. After the Panthers took the lead in the top of the sixth, he pitched a scoreless bottom half.
