Men's Tennis Opens NCAA Tourney vs. FSU Friday in Athens

ATLANTA – The No. 58-ranked Georgia State men's tennis team, the Sun Belt Conference champions, has earned its seventh NCAA berth and a first-round matchup against Florida State on Friday in Athens, Ga.

The Panthers (17-7) and Seminoles (16-10), an at-large selection from the Atlantic Coast Conference, will meet at 11 a.m. ET on Friday at the Dan Magill Tennis Center on the University of Georgia campus.

Host and No. 11 national seed Georgia will face Alabama State at 2 p.m. in Friday's other first round match. The winners of Friday's matches will meet at 4 p.m. Saturday for the right to the advance to the NCAA Super Regionals.

This is the Panthers' first time qualifying for NCAA Regional play since 2017, and the seventh time since the team's first appearance in 1999. GSU is 0-6 in NCAA Tournament play, and looks to earn the first win in program history.

Georgia State earned the NCAA berth by knocking off South Alabama 4-1 in the Sun Belt Conference Championship on April 16.
