ATLANTA, GA. - Georgia State took one of two matches in their doubleheader on Friday, Jan. 24. The Panthers defeated Chattanooga 4-1 and fell 4-2 to South Carolina State.

The Panthers came out strong against the Mocs as they took the doubles point with victories on courts No. 1 and No. 2.
Gabriele Datei and
Baran Soyler won 6-3 on court No. 2, while
Hugo Nossler and
Aryan Jit Singh clinched the doubles point with a 7-6(4) victory at the top court.
In singles play,
Edward Tymes quickly added a point for the Panthers at the second singles line, winning 6-1, 6-1. Nossler followed with a 6-2, 6-3 victory on court No. 4. Finally, Soyler clinched the match at the top court, defeating his opponent 3-6, 7-6(5), 6-4.
GSU vs. South Carolina State
Georgia State fought in doubles play, but ultimately lost the doubles point with losses on courts No. 2 and No. 3.
In singles play, Tymes and Nossler won their second singles matches of the day, giving the Panthers their two points. The Panthers fell on courts No. 1, 3, and 5, losing the match 4-2.
Georgia State will take on Georgia Tech next on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 10:00 a.m.
