"A Great Night" at GSU Spring Game

ATLANTA -- At Georgia State's annual Spring Game on a beautiful night, the Blue Team defeated the White Team 24-7 before a crowd of 4,200 at Center Parc Stadium.

"Overall it's been a great spring," head coach Shawn Elliott said. "We've gotten better as a football team, and I think each and every position has answered some questions that we had coming in.

"We finished up with a great night tonight. Beautiful weather, great crowd and injury free. We're now ready to finish to this semester strong academically, have a great offseason and prepare for the University of South Carolina on Sept. 3."

With the Panthers returning 18 starters, including 10 All-Sun Belt Conference players, younger players got the majority of the reps.

One of those younger players who stood out tonight, as he has throughout the spring, was true freshman running back KZ Adams, a 2022 signee and early enrollee. Adams set up one touchdown with a 39-yard run down to the 18-yard line, and scored another touchdown on a 4-yard run. He was honored as the team's Most Outstanding Newcomer on Offense.

Backup quarterback Mikele Colasurdo threw a pair of touchdown passes, connecting with Cadarrius Thompson from 17 yards and Kellan Autenrieth from 55 yards.

Antoine Lane scored the White's touchdown on a 2-yard run. Michael Hayes added a 38-yard field goal for the Blue.

The GSU defense displayed its strong pass rush throughout the night, led by players such as Jamil Muhammed, Thomas Gore and Tre Moore. Other defensive plays came from Jontrey Hunter (interception), Chris Davis, Jr. (interception) and Justin Abraham (fumble recovery).
