Men's Tennis Falls on the Road Against Furman, 4-3

Greenville, S.C.- Despite a strong performance that saw the Panthers lead 3-1, the Georgia State men's tennis team fell to Furman, 4-3, on Sunday. The match marks the team's first loss since its season opener.

GSU started the match by dropping in doubles and falling behind early entering singles competition. The team then reeled off three straight wins to position itself to clinch the match and extend its winning streak.

Kevin Huynh claimed victory, 6-1, 6-4, in the fourth position to tie the match at 1-1. Roberts Grinvalds also secured a win, 6-4, 7-5, in the team's first position, and Andrei Duarte posted yet another win in three sets, 6-4, (3-6), 6-4, in the second position.

GSU then dropped courts three, five and six as Furman knocked off the Panthers in the team's first of four consecutive road matches. The team moves to 3-2 on the spring season with the loss.

GSU will return to action and look to rebound next weekend in a pair of matches on the road. The team travels to Florida to face Miami on Friday, Feb. 18 at 11 a.m. ET followed by a match against FAU Saturday, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. ET.
