NORFOLK, VA- Simon Carlson nets the last goal for the Panthers to help clinch the 3-2 win over Old Dominion in their last regular season match.

The Panthers finish the regular season 11-3-3 overall and 4-2-2 in the Sun Belt, finishing third in the Sun Belt, behind nationally ranked #2 Kentucky and #5 Marshall.

Evan Schroeder started the Panthers off in the 12
th minute with a header off a corner kick from Carlson. Georgia State had three more shots on goal, but the score would remain 1-0 at the half.

12 minutes into the second half
Jack Hilton-Jones scored to put the Panthers up 2-0. The goal came after a corner kick that found Hilton-Jones but was knocked out to Wilkins. Wilkins shot deflected off the crossbar when Hilton-Jones connected with the ball once again for the goal. Â

Old Dominion scored a goal in the 59
th minute to bring the score within one.

Carlson answered with a goal of his own in the 64
th minute to extend the lead back to two.
Ramon Munoz launched the ball to Carlson who was wide open, he beat out the defender in the box and scored the goal under the Keepers leg. Carlson's goal is his seventh of the season and now leads the Panthers in goals.

The Monarchs scored the last goal of the match and would attempt to tie it up but was not successful resulting in a Panthers win.

The Panthers will travel to Huntington, West Virginia as the #3 seed in the Sun Belt Conference Championship. They will face Old Dominion once again at 7 p.m. Sunday night. The SBC Championship will be aired live on ESPN+.
