Panthers Fall to Old Dominion at Home

ATLANTA— Hosting Sun Belt Conference opponent Old Dominion on Sunday for its first of two home matches to close the 2022 regular season, Georgia State women's soccer fell to ODU, 1-0.

Goalkeeper Jaddah Foos recorded a season-high seven saves on the day in a defensive-heavy outing that saw GSU struggle to find scoring opportunities.

Despite the Panthers' strong play on defense, ODU managed a goal in the 15th minute to give the Monarchs an early advantage. ODU maintained the 1-0 lead throughout the remainder of the match as GSU was unable to connect on any of its five attempted shots.

GSU totaled two shots on goal with forward Jimena Cabrero and midfielder Ana Diaz each charting one shot on goal for the Panthers on Sunday. Bree Barley, Gracen Crosby and Brooke Hart all registered one shot each.

Foos' save total on Sunday marks a tie for the goalkeeper's season best having previously charted seven saves facing Arkansas State on the road last week. The junior has tallied 68 saves in 2022 and now sits at 145 total career saves.

The loss moves the Panthers to 7-5-5 overall for the season and 3-4-2 in Sun Belt play.

GSU will close the regular season this upcoming Thursday, Oct. 27 hosting in-state conference rival Georgia Southern at 7 p.m. ET. The match at the GSU Soccer Complex will be streamed live on ESPN+ with live stats available to fans.
