Panther Fall to the Dukes, 3-1

The Panthers got off to a hot start, winning the opening set, before eventually falling to the Dukes in four sets, 3-1.
 
The Panthers opened the match with an ace from Ryan Spicer-Gordon to set the tone of set one. Kills from Isabelle Percoco and Erin Wyatt put the Panthers up 16-9. Erin Wyatt gave the Panthers three of their last four points, including a kill off a Jenna Brown assist that would put the set away, 25-20.
 

 
Set two began with the two teams trading points. The Dukes were able to gain a five point lead, that the Panthers could ultimately not recover from. At 14-18 the Dukes went on 5-0 run, to go up 14-23. The Panthers clawed their way back into the match and saved two set points, but the Dukes were able to close and win the set 25-20.
 

 
The Panthers got out to an early four-point lead in set three. The Dukes were able to tie the set up at 11-11. The teams would it tie up two more times, before the Dukes would go on a 6-0 to tie it up at 14-all and then widen the gap to 14-19. The Panthers saved four set points before a Dukes kill would give them the set victory, 25-21.
 
Once again the Panthers got out to a hot start in set four, going up 9-2. Just like the third set, the Dukes battles back and tied it up at 11-all. The Panthers kept it close, but the Dukes were eventually able to close and won the fourth 25-19, securing the match victory, 3-1.
 
Clara Bednarek led all players on the court with eight block assists to go along with six kills. Erin Wyatt recorded four blocks including one solo, along with ten kills. Isabelle Percoco also put down ten kills and two blocks. Julianna Truscott notched eight kills, hitting .300. Laura Ehieze recorded seven and Izzy Durnell recorded three along with four block assists. Ryan Spicer-Gordon earned a season-high 18 digs to lead all players on the court. Jenna Brown and Maren Palmer dished out 20 and 18 assists respectively.
 
The Panthers hit the road and travel to Statesboro for a rivalry matchup against Georgia Southern on October 21 and 22. The matches will be streamed live on ESPN+.
