Hunt Wins Long Jump Title at Sun Belt Championships

MOBILE, Ala. -- Jaeda Hunt became the first Panther since 2011 to bring home a conference championship in the long jump Saturday at the 2021 Sun Belt Outdoor Track & Field Championships. 

Hunt recorded the second best jump in school history at 6.15m to score 10 points for the Panthers. She also scored five points with a fourth-place finish in the 100m and was part of the GSU 4x100m relay squad that scored three points with a sixth-place finish. 

Marine Garnier earned GSU six points after placing third in the 3000m steeplechase. Anouk Prop and Emma Devis scored five and four points in the 800m and 1500m, respectively. 

Imani Flanagan picked up two points for GSU in the 400m and Camarii Tellis added a point in the long jump. 

Hunt and Garnier each earned All-Sun Belt honors.
