ATLANTA - Georgia State women's tennis dropped a 4-0 decision to Sun Belt foe Troy on Saturday evening at Life Time Athletic.
The Panthers (2-17) started at a disadvantage, as only two doubles pairings took the courts. On the top court Ellie Aldrich and Andreea Stanescu bested their opposition in a 6-1 decision. Despite remaining competitive on court two, the Trojans held on to take the doubles point behind a 6-4 result.
The Trojans picked up two additional points as only four players competed in singles action for the blue and white. Andreea Stanescu cruised to a 6-3 first set victory and held a second set lead, but her match would go unfinished. Troy found the fourth and final point of the match with a victory over Maddy Frediani on court four.
The Panthers will have a quick turn around as they battle South Alabama on Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. This will mark the final regular season contest of the 2021 campaign.
