Maughan Named Sun Belt Player of the Week

ATLANTA- Harvey Maughan was named the Sun Belt Men's Tennis Player of the Week as announced by the conference office Wednesday afternoon.

The junior transfer is coming off an impressive two weeks of action. First, Maughan recorded his third consecutive win, defeating Old Dominion on court five. His victory marked Georgia State's lone point in the challenging contest. Maughan continued his momentum and cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win at North Florida two days later. During the past weekend, the Panthers returned to the state of Florida for a pair of non-conference meetings. At No. 34 South Florida, Maughan downed the No. 21 doubles pairing in the country, playing with consistent partner Kevin Huynh. His efforts helped clinch the doubles point for Georgia State. The next day at Stetson, Maughan fought to find his sixth victory of the season with a super tiebreaker decision on court three. Additionally, he tacked on a doubles win on the top court for the Panthers.

This weekend Maughan and the Panthers host ETSU Friday before facing Chattanooga Sunday afternoon. Both matches will be played at the Peachtree City Tennis Center.
