Allen and Nsoseme Earn All-Sun Belt Honors

ATLANTA-After leading Georgia State to a 16-6 record and first place in the Sun Belt Conference East Division, senior Corey Allen and redshirt-junior Eliel Nsoseme have earned All-Sun Belt honors as announced by the league office on Thursday.

Allen garnered All-Sun Belt Second Team honors while Nsoseme was named to the All-Sun Belt Third Team after each had remarkable seasons on the court.

Allen led the Panthers in scoring averaging 15.0 points per game, while grabbing 4.1 rebounds per contest. One of the best 3-point shooters in the conference, Allen shot 42.5 percent from 3-point range which ranks 14th in the NCAA. He knocked down 62 3-pointers despite the fact that the Panthers played just 22 games.

Allen also averaged a team-high 31.6 minutes per game and was named the Sun Belt Player of the Week on Dec. 29, after leading the Panthers to a win over the College of Charleston. He opened the season playing a school-record 50 minutes of a four-overtime win over Georgia Tech. He scored a team-high 21 points with seven rebounds in the Sun Belt Conference Semifinal win over Louisiana this past weekend. For the season, Allen scored 20 or more points four times, including a season-high 22 points at Coastal Carolina.

Nsoseme earned Sun Belt Conference All-Tournament honors on Monday after being the Panthers leader on and off the court this year collecting six double-doubles, including two in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.

Nsoseme averaged 11.7 points and 10.1 rebounds per game becoming just the seventh Panther in program history to average a double-double for the season. He is fourth in the NCAA collecting 4.22 offensive rebounds per game and 18th in the country in rebounding. Nsoseme grabbed 20 rebounds earlier in the year against Mercer, the most rebounds in a game for a Panther in 25 years. He was just four points shy that night of becoming just the third Panther to score 20 points and grab 20 rebounds in a game. Nsoseme shot 61.7 percent from the floor this season and blocked 27 shots, second-most on the team. Four of his six double-doubles have come in either conference play or the conference tournament.
