The 2021 campaign proved to be one of the most historic seasons in the history of Georgia State volleyball, as the Panthers reached the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt Championship for the first time since joining the conference.

The season delivered several memorable moments including senior Meisheia Griffin becoming the first player in program history to be tabbed Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year, while also becoming the first player since 2014 to earn All-Sun Belt First Team honors.

Griffin's accomplishments didn't stop there as the star middle blocker became Georgia State's all-time career leader in block assists.

Among other accolades, senior Leah Wilcox was tabbed to the Academic All-District® Volleyball Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for the second consecutive year.

Wilcox, a native of Ocala, Fla., maintained a 4.0 grade point average while becoming the only Panther to eclipse the 200 kill mark in each of the past three seasons.

The psychology major, and star outside hitter, ranked second on the team in kills, while ranking fourth in digs.

Eight of the Georgia State's losses came in five-set thrillers this season. Overall, 11 of the Panthers matches went to five-sets, which is the most in a single season since 2017.

As a team, the Panthers ranked second in the conference in blocks (267.5), while also ranking fourth in kills (1,372) and fifth in digs (1,713) this season.

The Panthers displayed a balanced offensive attack as seven players notched over 100 kills for the first time in the past 15 seasons. Of note, five of the seven players who tallied 100 or more kills are expected to return next season for the Panthers.
