QUICK NOTES
•    Georgia State faculty and staff can get into Friday's game for free by showing their GSU ID at the will-call window.
•    Georgia State plays its first home game of the season Friday morning at 10 a.m. vs. Tennessee State. The Panthers fell 84-70 at Florida in the season-opener Tuesday.
•    Ashley Foster posted career-highs in points (19) and rebounds (6) at Florida. All five newcomers made their GSU debuts on Tuesday. Freshman Nyla Jean scored 10 points.
•    The Panthers visited Tennessee State last season in Nashville and defeated the Tigers 88-83 in OT. GSU and TSU are even at 3-3 in the all-time series.
•    The Panthers return five players that started 10 or more games last season. The key returners for GSU include Taniyah Worth (8.5 ppg, 3.2 rpg), Hannah Sadler (8.2 ppg, 3.5 rpg), Tehya Lyons (6.1 ppg, 46 assists), and Kam Dziak (5.0 ppg, 30 3FG made). and fellow freshmen Mikyla Tolivert and Alyssa Phillip each finished with six points.
•    The Panthers recorded their second winning season in the last three years in 2020-21 and earned the No. 2 seed from the east at the Sun Belt Championship. It was GSU's first No. 2 seed since 2001.
•    GSU returns 10 players overall and welcomes five newcomers. Head coach Gene Hill also welcomed a new assistant coach in the offseason, Roddreka Rogers.
•    Of the 15 Panthers on this year's roster, eight are from Georgia, two from Alabama, two from Florida, one from Maryland, one from Ohio, and one from Israel.
•    Florida is the first of two SEC opponents GSU will face this season. The Panthers will visit Knoxville, Tenn., on Dec. 12 to take on the Volunteers on SEC Network+. 
•    GSU hosts three straight home games after Tuesday's opener on the road. The Panthers welcome Tennessee State (Nov. 12), Life U. (Nov. 14), and Brewton-Parker (Nov. 17) to the Sports Arena in downtown Atlanta.
•    Georgia State begins conference play Dec. 30 at home against Little Rock. The Panthers were picked seventh in the preseason coaches' poll.
