ATLANTA-Coming off an impressive opening night win, the Georgia State men's basketball team will host former CAA foe Northeastern on Friday afternoon at 1 p.m., in the GSU Sports Arena.

Georgia State (1-0) is coming off a 60-point win on Tuesday but will face a much stiffer opponent in Northeastern (0-1) which is among the favorites to win the Colonial Athletic Association this year.

All-Sun Belt Preseason First Team member Corey Allen led the Panthers with 20 points on Tuesday night, while fellow senior Justin Roberts added 19 points and a team-high six steals. Georgia State finished the game tying a school record with 21 steals while forcing 31 turnovers.

Georgia State is looking to start the season 2-0 for a second-straight year before embarking on four-straight games away from the GSU Sports Arena over the next two-plus weeks.

Northeastern leads the all-time series with Georgia State 10-6 with the last game coming in the 2012-13 regular season finale which was also the final CAA game for the Panthers. GSU has won three of the last five games in the series and two of the last three match-ups in Atlanta have gone to overtime.
