Williams went 13-of-14 from the free throw line as Georgia State (16-9, 9-5 Sun Belt) went 22-of-25 from the charity stripe. The junior added six rebounds as the Panthers snapped a two-game losing streak.

ULM (6-17, 2-12 Sun Belt) lost for the 10th-straight time despite four players in double figures led by Tyree White who just missed a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds. Youry White finished with a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds off the bench for the Warhawks.

Redshirt-junior Corey Allen added 15 points including three 3-pointers, while senior Damon Wilson added 14 points. Redshirt-sophomore Justin Roberts just missed a double-double with nine points and seven assists while freshman Jalen Thomas came off the bench to score nine.

"Despite their losing streak, coming into today we knew what ULM was capable of after they nearly knocked off Georgia Southern on Thursday night," head coach Rob Lanier said. "We knew that if we stuck to what practice and what we do, we could prevail, but if we didn't, they might be the team that could end a losing streak today."

Georgia State led by as many as seven early before ULM used a 6-0 run midway through the half to tie the game 17-17 with 9:19 to play.

The Panthers immediately responded with a 9-0 run that included an impressive steal and lay-up in the back-court by Nelson Phillips to go ahead 26-17 with 5:49 to play as Georgia State held ULM without a field goal for six minutes.

ULM responded by holding Georgia State without a field goal for more than five minutes and used a 6-0 run to cut the Panthers lead to one.

Georgia State went into the locker room leading 32-29 despite shooting just 3-of-17 from 3-point range.

After the Warhawks made the first basket of the second half, Georgia State immediately responded with an 11-0 run including a Joe Jones III lay-up and free throw to go ahead 43-31 with 16:21 to play.

Georgia State led by as many as 16 points with 9:42 to play. ULM responded with a 9-0 run to cut Georgia State's lead to 56-49 with 7:29 to play before a Corey Allen steal and lay-up ended the run.

The Warhawks cut the Panther lead to just five with 3:41 to play before Allen knocked down a 3-pointer and made a jumper on back-to-back possessions to put Georgia State back ahead by 10 with 2:11 remaining.

ULM would get no close than six points on multiple occasions as the Panthers made their free throws down the stretch.

Junior Josh Linder added six points and four rebounds for the Panthers while All-Sun Belt honoree Michael Ertel added 17 points for the Warhawks.
