Holloway's Goal Earns a Draw in Statesboro

STATESBORO, Ga. -- Georgia State earned a 2-2 draw at Georgia Southern Sunday night in Statesboro.

Georgia State (7-1-2, 6-1-2 Sun Belt) trailed the Eagles 2-1 in the 68th minute when Kelsee Holloway scored her second goal of the season. Holloway's shot snuck between a GS defender's legs and curved into the lower left corner of the goal.

Holloway's goal came after Georgia Southern had scored in the 25th and 42nd minutes of the first half.

For the second consecutive game, Grace Kiser scored early for the Panthers. On Thursday against Mercer, the transfer from Elon scored her first goal as a Panther in just the 5th minute. Tonight in Statesboro, Kiser put the Panthers ahead in the 12th minute off a corner kick where the ball fell to Kiser's feet right in front of goal.

Sunday was Georgia State's sixth overtime contest of the season. GSU is now 4-0-2 in those games.

While GSU's four-game win streak was snapped, the Panthers maintain an unbeaten stretch of seven games going into their final two Sun Belt matches of the regular season.

The Panthers host Troy Friday night and South Alabama Sunday afternoon, both games at Center Parc Stadium.

The Panthers are one point behind South Alabama in the Sun Belt East Division standings.
