Panthers Fall to Red Wolves in Overtime

GSU will face Little Rock Saturday at 3 p.m.

JONESBORO, Ark. – Georgia State missed an opportunity to tie the game at the buzzer in overtime Thursday in Jonesboro as Arkansas State held on to win 70-68 at First National Bank Arena.

The Panthers got the last shot in both regulation in overtime but couldn't get either basket to fall.

Jada Lewis led Georgia State with 22 points as the redshirt junior knocked down a season-high six 3-pointers.

Shaq Miller-McCray finished with five blocks and now has 15 blocks over the last three games. She added 10 rebounds, six points, and three steals as well.

Allison Johnson led the Panthers on the boards with 12 rebounds. Taylor Hosendove had eight points and eight rebounds.

The Panthers started on fire and led the Red Wolves by as many as 15 points. Arkansas State slowly fought back into the game and used a big run in the 4th quarter to force overtime.

Ashley Foster made a great defensive play to force a turnover with 16 seconds left in overtime, giving GSU a chance to tie the game, but the Panthers couldn't capitalize.

Next up for GSU is Little Rock on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET.
